I’m very interested in your course in Mysticism and Creativity. I'm a fiber artist, mainly felting, but I’m a lifelong knitter and sewer and incorporate those skills in my felting. I'm also a writer and in the process of writing my memoir. I'm 81 and feel very much the interconnection between everything alive and otherwise. My health is good and I'm physically active.
I am sometimes stuck creating art and feeling as though its not good enough, even though I get very positive feedback. As a result, I procrastinate starting my projects. I also spend too much time researching new techniques instead of working with what I know and tweaking to create new results. I participate regularly in local art shows and have a series of large felted flowers in the Women’s Center of a local hospital. My sources of inspiration come from nature and other sources like ancient art and archeology. I've spent a great deal of time in Greece. My husband is from Greece. We have been married 62 years in March. He suffers from dementia and I'm his caregiver, with help from our two sons. I have my writer’s group from 10-12 on the 13th, but we only meet twice a month. Will I be able to access what I miss. You can see one example of my art in my profile photo. It’s a ”self portrait” 😏
I think I might have taken on a bit more than I can handle and over commited with my writers group too. Another thing I struggle with is doing too much. I've decided not to take your series at this time. I'm sorry
That’s fine, I may offer it again. A good writer’s group is a great thing. One of the members is a poet. I ran a tanka writing group for over a decade. If you have a good group, keep going!
Thank you for becoming a paid subscriber, and I would love to have you join us. I guess I can ask permission of the group to record the session. Is your writer's group online? Might you join for the first 1/2 hr at 9:30? The first meeting has introductions and discussion of inspiration. There is one other fiber artist in the group.
Thank you
